    Please make sure the source audio from your TV is set as linear PCM not Dolby. If the DVD or audio source is set to dolby it will not work properly.

    If the TV signal is not in surround sound Will I still have all five speakers and the woofer put outsound or only the two front speakers will work?

    Yes it will work but you have to use the HDMI input channel. And the TV needs to have an HDMI (ARC).
