1) what is the most recent firmware version for this device? if my camera is in need of a firmware update how do i go about installing it?
2) does the most recent firmware update resolve the issue where sd cards are not recognized upon power-up and the card must be pulled and re-inserted in order for the camera to recognize it?
There are currenty no firmware updates as for this time.
Sometimes freezing can be caused by an SD card error.
1) Check your SD card is 32G or less class 10.
2) Try reformatting the card with your computer to FAT32
3) Check to see if freezing occurs if the card is ejected or with multiple cards.
